Airport Sceneries have to be found, tested and distributed to the Official teams. Once all this is done each Team can concentrate on their own work promoting the event, organising catering, printing off Charts and generally getting ready for the first flight at 22.00 hrs on Sunday 6th November 2011 (UTC)
For UK WorldFlight Andy Keeney has kindly printed off all the Airport Charts needed for all 45 Airports this year, this runs into a few thousand individual charts and there is a set for each Pilot ... these are the same charts used in real life operations and are kindly sponsored by Jeppesen.
Airport and En-route Charts ready for use
This year Roddy Maddocks took on the Job of preparing the Pilot Roster, again this was a most difficult job, fitting in with the times everyone was available, flights they particularly wished to do and then pairing crew members up in terms of experience and then taking into consideration rest periods made it all a bit of a nightmare, however after 10 revisions we have finally come up with a workable Roster ... Famous last words :) Luckily most of our Crew have done this at least 3 times before so know what to expect, we have one new Member this Year Dominc Mahon ... I'm hoping he will add his experiences as a "Newbie" to this blog during the event.
I am responsible for fitting the new webcam, finding all the Airport Sceneries for the whole group, updating our website and promoting the event., this also means other little jobs like Crew Badges.
Crew Badges ... so we know who everyone is !
With only a few little jobs to do, we are almost prepared for our first flight in 12 days time !
