Memoirs of a WorldFlight newbie...

Time for a few thoughts from the new guy on the team - now that we're halfway through the week I feel like I've settled into a bit of a routine and pretty much resolved the teething problems that I had in my first couple of flights (that engine fire on landing was God's way of telling me not to overcontrol the aircraft I guess!) It's been a really busy first few days travelling from Australia to the Eastern USA and it feels like we've all been flying together for years rather than just hours!

I guess the best thing for me as the new guy is how this has transformed my flightsim experience from sitting in front of my PC to being part of a real two man team, dealing with all the challenges that the weather, other traffic and ATC can throw at us. I've learned so much in the last few months and now I'm putting it all into practice, I don't think simflying at home will ever seem quite the same!

The other thing of course that sets this apart is the team spirit, not just here in Coventry but with all the other teams, pilots and Air Traffic Controllers who have joined together for the Event, it really makes you feel part of something huge. And all for a good cause too - so, if you haven't already, please don't forget to donate!
